Abstract

An interconnection is made between smart power grids and the market dynamics. Both admit a port-Hamiltonian form and in particular are passive systems. As such, the interconnection is power-preserving, implying passivity of the closed-loop model. This thesis is an extension of the work done by [Stegink, 2016], where various extensions to the market dynamics have been examined. In adding transmission costs it is shown that asymptotic stability could only be proven where the physical network is a tree. This thesis provides a model to try and show (asymptotic) stability for all (interconnected) graphs.
