Abstract

In this thesis, an extensive literature research is performed on the observational differences between the single- and multi-field inflationary scenarios. In particular, we derive the non-Gaussianity signal predicted in the single- and multi-field slow-roll models of inflation, which are minimally coupled to Einstein gravity. Potentially, those observational differences between the two scenarios can be used to rule out one scenario in favour of the other by means of CMB anisotropies.
