Abstract

The COSFIRE algorithm can be used for visual recognition of many different patterns and features in images. In this text we describe the development of a re-implementation of the program in a new programming paradigm. Hereafter, we try to optimize the program and parallelise it. This leads to new multi-threaded piece of software in Python. Additionally, some background theory is provided about the underlying principles in biology and mathematics.
