Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of an autonomous agent for controlling vehicles in a traffic simulator. This agent is based on recent developments in artificial intelligence, autonomous (oboticand cognitive psychology. The goal of this to simulate realistic drivinbéhavior. A cognitive architecture was developed to implement the design of the agent. This architecture is based on rule-base-evaluation and is used in trying to describe human driving behavior and to function in the way prescribed by the model. Fuzzy logic is used to assure natural flow of information and to make human-like reasoning possible.
