Abstract
In this thesis we consider (maximal) monotone relations, as an extension to monotone functions in real analysis. First we give an introduction to (maximal) monotonicity, then we consider the composition of two (maximal) monotone relations. We see that the composition of two (maximal) monotone relations is (maximal) monotone. Besides the composition we also consider a special class of monotone relations: the linear case with in particular the Dirac structure..
