Abstract

Bistable spin crossover (SCO) materials are interesting candidates for molecular electronics due to their potential use as switches. The interplay between magnetic properties and electrical transport is of particular importance, but has not been investigated at length. In this research we address the spin crossover material trans-[Fe(bapbpy)(NCS)2]. We develop a method for making a uniform thin film of this material using solution processing and the technique of spin coating. The electrical properties of trans-[Fe(bapbpy)(NCS)2] are studied in large-area molecular junctions.
