Abstract

Sulfur is a poorly studied element in individual red giant branch stars outside the Milky Way. It has been shown to behave like other -elements in this Galactic Halo of red giant branch stars. High-resolution ESO VLT/FLAMES/UVES spectra was used to look for the S I triplet at 9213, 9228, and 9238 Å for 8 individual stars in the Sculptor dSph. This involved significant data reduction, namely sky removal, telluric corrections, heliocentric corrections and co-adding same stars spectra. However, convincing evidence of the presence of sulfur in the stars was not found.
