Abstract

Voxel-Based Morphometry (VBM) is a whole-brain, unbiased technique for characterising regional cerebral volume and tissue concentration differences in structural magnetic resonance images (MRI), between or within groups of subjects. The goal of this project is to provide the University Hospital Groningen (AZG) with a standardised protocol and an automated procedure, that implements the VBM method for detecting morphological changes or differences in the human brain. Specific attention will be given to the sensitivity of the method (analytical and based on simulations).
