Abstract
Fractals are sets that exhibit a repeating pattern on every scale resulting in complex images that do not simplify on magnification. Fractals generally do not have an integer dimension and its exact dimension can often not be found which leads to different numerical approximations of its fractal dimension. This thesis takes a numerical approach to fractals and their fractal dimension in which we introduce several definitions of dimensions and apply them to fractals. We will be focusing on Julia sets, a collection of fractals solely described by a function for which we use different algorithms to generate them.
