Abstract

The Ocean Grazer is a novel concept for extracting and storing ocean energy. The main extraction system is capable of converting wave energy into hydraulic head via a pump system, consisting of three pistons attached via a cable to a floater. Fresh water is pumped around in a closed loop between two basins inside the ocean. The connecting cable translates the vertical movement of the floater, outside the closed loop, to the pistons which are inside the closed loop
