Abstract

The goal of this research is to provide linearized efficiency and stability formulas of the Dutch electricity grid under influence of changing amounts and positions of renewable generators. A model of the balanced Dutch electricity grid with demand and mixes of renewables in low- and medium voltage networks is necessary to achieve this. The key indicators are stability, availability and losses of the network as a whole. This main goal is approached by executing four research steps resulting in three partial individual products, which in combination answer the research question. The three steps are: make a model of the physical network including all common representative voltage levels, determine the behavior of renewable generators and simulate the effects of renewable generators on the network with respect to a set of KPI’s.
