Abstract

This report describes the recent advancements in PROTAC technology specifically targeting BET proteins, with a focus on the BRD4 protein. It gives an overview of the progress in the employment of this new technology and its anti cancer capabilities. PROTAC, meaning Proteolysis Targeting Chimeraes are molecules made up of 3 parts: A target binding moiety, an E3 ligase recruiting moiety and a linker to connect them. It uses the cell's ubiquitinilation machinery to degrade a target protein. The limitations and advantages of this new technology is discussed.
