Abstract
The branching fraction of the Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^+ rightarrow pi^+ pi^0 pi^0$ is known to be $(4.5 pm 0.4) times 10^{-3}$. This value, published by the Particle Data Group, is based on a single study by the CLEO-c collaboration in 2006, and it could be improved with the world's largest data set collected at center-of-mass energy 3.773 GeV by the BESIII collaboration between 2010 and 2011. The work in this thesis aims to measure and improve the aforementioned branching fraction. In order to achieve this goal, different Monte Carlo studies and analysis techniques are implemented.
