Abstract

In rare decays background events are far more numerous than signal events. It is therefore essential to be able to predict backgrounds in the search for such decays. A fast tool was developed to predict peaking and semi-peaking backgrounds in two-body decays. Peaking backgrounds, due to misidentification, can be predicted and simulated in a matter of seconds, for any given decay. For semi-peaking backgrounds, both direct and cascade decays were considered. This tool can locate these backgrounds in several minutes.
