Abstract

In this research possibilities and limits of the ARAMIS digital image correlation system are examined. Sample preparation and calibration of the system are explained into detail. It is found that the system is a possible, but time consuming option for calibration of a tensile stage. A stress-strain curve is obtained from a tensile test, with ARAMIS giving strain results. This curve leads to a yield strength and Young's modulus, making the system useful for this cause.
