Abstract

In this research project a new approach to modeling and identification of hysteresis in a novel deformable mirror using the Bouc-Wen model is presented. With an iterative identification algorithm, the variables used in the Bouc-Wen model are estimated based on input-output data. With this approach a minimum number of data sets are required to find the parameters describing the hysteresis loop in the novel deformable mirror's piezoelectric actuator. For the proposed identification method no prior knowledge on the parameters is needed. This approach could be a novel contribution to the solution for problems arising in many application areas where hysteresis phenomena is found, and an analytical description is required.
