Abstract
This thesis concerns the estimation of the unknown variables in a SEIR model applied to the disease measles. The method we suggest to find estimations of these variables uses window smoothing and yields in estimators for systems that are linear in the parameters. The derived method is implemented in R and used for an analysis on data of England and Wales from 1948 to 1966. A stability analysis of a disease-free equilibrium and an endemic equilibrium is made.
