Abstract
BT Global Services is a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider that makes use of cloud service providers with data centers all around the globe. Becoming carbon neutral is a big goal for most companies, including BT’s customers. Part of achieving that goal is using energy efficient data centers for their company. However, most cloud service providers do not offer clear and extensive insights into their customers’ usage numbers or carbon emissions. Thus the end-goal for BT is to have a dashboard that they can show to their customers, in order to help them first get an idea of their IT carbon footprint, and next to help them reduce that carbon footprint by showing areas in which energy is going to waste or is not being used efficiently. This kind of information is valuable to BT as well, since they themselves are also a company that wants to lower its carbon emissions.
