Abstract

The essay discusses sex differences in the brain, highlighting that while differences exist, there is significant overlap between male and female brain structures. The mosaic hypothesis is explored, which suggests that various factors independently shape different brain regions resulting in brains with both male-like and female-like features. The role of testosterone in neural organization is examined, with a distinction made between its organizational and activational effects.
