Abstract
Undergraduate geology students are often ill-prepared to apply mathematical principles in modelling reservoir structures. Several visualisation tools exist to help students grasp modelling techniques more effectively. This thesis outlines the development of a geological modelling visualisation tool, capable of B-spline interpolation and Sequential Indicator Simulation (SIS), enhanced by incorporating gamification elements (namely ‘Missions’ and ‘Badges’), with the aim of making interaction with the tool more engaging. In doing so, an improvement in the rates at which undergraduate geology students learn the mathematical principles used in geomodelling is expected.
