Abstract

The existing molecular visualization tools do not adequately meet current needs: although no single tool emerges as an all-encompassing answer to the needs of scientists, neither do the current multitude of tools showcase specialized enough features to satisfy the varied demands of the community [1]. This project expands on one of the more state of the art tools currently available - MolStar - with the aim of increased functionality and ease of use, thus attempting to set a standard for such types of software. The main concerns of this project will be the design of a simple UI when faced with a complex tool and its expansion of current features for single atoms to groups, coupled with rendering improvements.
