Abstract
The main object of study of this thesis is the Riemann Mapping Theorem, with a large portion of the paper dedicated to visual intuition. We begin with defining all the necessary terms needed to state this result, such as simply-connected domains, and angle-preserving functions. We prove the theorem in two steps, and in each step, we alternate between two methods of reasoning. The first of these two modes uses visual intuition to serve as a visual primer, and the second mode then translates that visual language into a much more rigorous argument. The aim of this work is to provide the reader with intuitive understanding of the Riemann Mapping Theorem, as well as an elementary proof.
