Abstract
This study assesses the technical viability of co-located offshore wind, wave, and solar energy parks in the Danish Exclusive Economic Zone and Baltic Sea using the MANTA techno-economic model. A Marine Spatial Planning framework identifies current and future offshore sites, from which an installation timeline is built under high and low deployment scenarios (52 GW and 32 GW by 2050) reflecting uncertainty in Denmark's progress toward its 2030 and 2050 capacity targets. Technical performance is evaluated through capacity factor, coefficient of variance, and curtailed electricity, comparing co-located parks against single-technology deployments. To contextualize these results, Danish electricity demand is projected to 2080 using a logistic (S-curve) model with Monte Carlo-sampled uncertainty in the long-run demand ceiling, informed by electrification literature. Together, these analyses evaluate whether Denmark's offshore capacity trajectory can meet projected demand and offer guidance on the infrastructure and deployment schedules needed to close the gap between planned and targeted capacity.
