Abstract
During sound production at the larynx, air passes through the opening between the vocal folds, called the glottis, inducing the vocal folds, called the glottis, inducing the vocal folds to vibrate. This vibration of the vocal folds transforms the earflow into sound waves. Some patients with laryngeal cancer need a total laryngectomy to cure from the disease. In a total laryngectomy the vocal folds are removed. With this removal of the vocal folds, the natural way to produce voice is lost. A voice-producing element, wich replaces the vocal folds, can be helpful.
