Abstract
The number of people suffering from chronic diseases is growing rapidly and poses an ever increasing strain on the health care sector. To improve treatment for this group of patients the availability of health information throughout a health care chain is vital. This availability requires a distribution model that uses the latest developments in the health care sector, both technical as legal. One of these developments is the use of software as a service (SaaS). This thesis describes the different services available, the tasks they perform, and how they can fit into a distribution model.
