Abstract
The Navier-Stokes equations are probably the most important equations within the fluid mechanics. Therefore, the scientific world keeps on looking for new and better models to approximate these equations and to improve the models which already exist. In this thesis new models for the Navier-Stokes equations will be treated. These methods, the C2 and C4 model, will be proven to be smooth and continuous approximations for the Navier-Stokes equations. After this has been done, some simulations for simple configurations will be done. The results given by the C2 and C4 model will be compared with the results of the wellknown upwind and central method to see which models give better results.
