Abstract

A cantilever beam undergoes Experimental Modal Analysis in the form of impact testing, where the modal parameter extraction is done via data-driven modelling. Several impact locations of the beam are taken in order to validate the results, with the parameters being compared to those found through analytical equations. Furthermore, the same experiment is conducted again, but with a damaged beam. This is done in order to showcase the use and real-world applications of using data-driven modelling in Experimental Modal Analysis, mainly for the Structural Health Monitoring area.
