Abstract
We define the structure of a model category and show that the Quillen structure on sSet is a model structure. We extend this result to define the Joyal model structure and its equivalents and use this to discuss two equivalent constructions of (∞, 1)-categories and go in depth in how to use rigidification for this purpose. Lastly we justify how this is a natural generalisation of ordinary category theory.
