Abstract

With the firm establishment of inflationary theory as a means to describe the evolution of one of the earliest epochs in the history of our universe, recently new extensions of this theory have been investigated in the light of the results obtained and published by the Planck satellite collaboration. Given their region of favourable inflation models, scientists have found that, introducing a non-minimally coupled term in the Lagrangians of slow-roll inflation models yields the appearance of attractor behavior to the Starobinsky model of inflation (the most-favored model in the Planck data). We have done an analysis for two different slow-roll inflation models: chaotic and induced inflation. Starting with a numerical reproduction of earlier obtained results for different powers n of these models, we progressed into the process of obtaining analytical expressions of these models by taking several approximations along the way. Furthermore we have done numerical error analysis on the accuracy of these analytical expressions and find that it is indeed possible to achieve accurate predictions for both models investigated.
