Abstract
The current technological revolutions have enabled science with a novel, detailed molecular look into the underexplored genetic processes of the formation of new species. By combining (1) genetic information to look into the past of a recently diverged group of tropical corals, (2) paleoceanographic information of the studied area and (3) an experimental approach, we will determine what ecological and genomic changes have led to the divergence of these corals. This will strengthen our understanding of the processes of speciation, the primary causes of the vast biodiversity we see on Earth today.
