Abstract
For the BaF eEDM search experiment the compensation and stabilization of magnetic fields was examined. A small, stable and known magnetic field is key to measure the eEDM with a high sensitivity. The external magnetic field was compensated by an order of magnitude with the use of a 62,0(1) cm cubic Helmholtz-coil configuration. This configuration was able to compensate the magnetic field with a compensation factor of below 0.1 inside a cubic volume of 20(3) cm × 20(3) cm × 20(3) cm enclosing the centre of the configuration.
