Van Meel, Melle (2018) The in situ synthesis of acetaldehyde from trans-3-chloroacrylc acid using the bacterial enzymes CaaD and MSAD. Acetaldehyde is further used in the synthesis of the drug precursor’s 2-chloro-cinnamaldehyde and 4-nitro-3-phenylbutanal via an aldol condensation and Michael-type addition, respectively.
