Abstract
Concerning curves over finite fields with many points, for the curves with a specific genus it is not always known what the maximum number of points is. In this project we try to contribute to the knowledge about this by studying certain constructions of curves with a large amount of points. For this we use cubic coverings of suitable curves with lower genus.
