Abstract

This work describes an investigation on the probabilistic behaviour of photons and electrons that occurs in the EBCMOS cameras developed at Photonis Netherlands B.V. These cameras suffer from different sources of noise. These sources are investigated in detail by means of experimental observations, computer simulations in C and Python and by developing a more sophisticated mathematical/statistical analysis. The result show great correspondence between the newly developed mathematical theory, simulation and experimental data.
