Abstract
Bohmian mechanics is the most popular interpretation of quantum mechanics in which particles have (random) positions. In this work, we firstly present an introduction to orthodox mathematical scattering theory centered around the empirical quantity 'scattering cross section' and its link to the Møller wave operators, and then investigate selected Bohmian insights into the modeling of scattering phenomena: we obtain that the scattering cross sections in the Bohmian and orthodox regime are equal under mild conditions, and that Bohmian mechanics seems conceptually clearer than orthodox quantum mechanics when it comes to describing the crossing of a surface by a particle.
