Abstract
Ocean Iron Fertilization is the concept of reducing atmospheric CO2 concentrations by adding dissolved iron to enhance growth of phytoplankton. This bachelor thesis gives a general overview of the last twenty years of research conducted on this potential climate mitigation tool. Additionally, the potential magnitude of carbon storage, the risk of possible unwanted side effects and a comparison with the costs and risks of other mitigation measures are discussed.
