Abstract
This report describes the building of a Compton spectrometer in order to measure the energy spectrum of a diagnostic radiographic device. High photon fluxes in CT scanners are the biggest problem in determining the spectrum shape. By building a spectrometer based on the Compton scattering principle it is possible to measure the spectra by attenuating the photon flux. The spectrum measured must be reconstructed by algorithms given in this report. Other applications include measuring of the influence of biological materials on the measured spectrum.
