Abstract
A mother enrichment program in Saccharomyces cerevisiae was investigated. In the strain 5185 it was found that upon adding 20 μM estradiol the daughter cells were unable to divide giving rise to slower growth of the culture and therefore a higher fraction of (old) mother cells. However, the program was not working with a 100% efficiency. An increase of the estradiol concentration did not show any effect.
