Abstract
In this thesis we will give a necessary and sufficient condition such that scale invariance implies invariance under the full conformal group for local continuous, Lorentz invariant and renormalizable lagrangian. First we will go through the construction of jet spaces, from which we deduce the first Noether theorem. Also we will discuss what the conformal transfomations are and what it means for a lagrangian to be renormalizable. We will prove that if a certain restriction for the energy momentum tensor holds. A scale invariant lagrangian will also be conformally invariant.
